My kind workmate and friend Edith.

Dear Edith. So sorry I missed you!!

My name is Kevin Langley and I worked with Edith for four years at the Swiss Cottage restaurant in Wentbridge in the 60's.

Always sweet even under pressure at this busy restaurant and working alongside Mrs 'Nellie' Hennessy and some of her family members.

I went to work there at age 15 under a four year contract with owner Mr. Weaver. My mother, also German as Edith was, was already very ill with cancer and Edith kindly translated our English letters into German for mothers family in the Hanover area and then also translated our German families letters into English for us. This was so important for us all at this very sad time but Edith took those letters home, translated them and brought them to me soon after.

Edith, if I had known where you were in 2019, 48 years after I left Swiss Cottage I would have loved to have thanked you once more for your patience and love and the wig you so kindly gave me for my mother after she lost her hair due to chemo but alas it is a missed opportunity.

I will leave my email address in case there is anyone interested in writing me, it is      kevellen99@yahoo.com

Thank you Edith, you were very special. Kevin.x
